Microbiological Testing
Microbiological testing of pools, spas, and cold water facilities, is a mandatory part of operating a safe facility.
These will need to take place either Monthly or Weekly, depending on your facility. The tests conducted are beyond that possible on site, and involve a water sample being collected and taken to a UKAS accredited laboratory in the UK. The results will take around 4 days, when you are then issued with a certificate showing your results in 4 key areas:
- Aerobic Colony Count
- Total Coliforms
- E-Coli
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Legionella testing is also available on request as an additional. This is certainly recommended on Spa facilities

Palintest Kits
We are delighted to be one of very few UK wide distributors of Palintest machinery and supplies; meaning we can directly supply you with all your pool testing needs as part of our ‘under one roof’ swimming pool/spa service.
These are the standard, handheld digital water testers designed for everyday use by pool operators and plant room staff. They focus on the core chemical parameters.
Key Models: Lumiso Pooltest 3, Lumiso Pooltest 4, Lumiso Pooltest 6.
Ideal for: Rapid, routine digital checks of primary levels like Chlorine, pH, Bromine, and Cyanuric Acid.
These are high-spec, benchtop or heavy-duty professional instruments capable of running massive suites of tests and managing full water balance calculations.
Key Models: Lumiso Pooltest 9, Pooltest 25, Lumiso Expert.
Ideal for: Large commercial leisure complexes or senior tech managers needing deeper data tracking, Bluetooth connectivity, and specialised tests (like Phosphate or Sulfate).
The essential chemical replacement packs required to actually perform the photometer tests.
Key Products: DPD 1 (Free Chlorine), DPD 3 (Total Chlorine), Phenol Red (pH), Alkaphot (Alkalinity), and Calcicol (Calcium Hardness) tablet packs (usually sold in boxes of 250).
Ideal for: Routine re-ordering and consumable supply contracts.
